After reading Anne Frank: The Book, The Life, The Afterlife, I had to pick up my own copy of The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank herself. Here’s a teaser about “the helpers” who visited the Franks almost every day with food and supplies:
“They come upstairs every day and talk to the men about business and politics, to the women about food and wartime difficulties and to the children about books and newspapers. They put on their most cheerful expressions, bring flowers and gifts for birthdays and holidays and are always ready to do what they can.”
I’m almost finished with the book. It’s been very insightful reading!

This is one of those books that needs to be read on a annual basis. It puts everything in perspective.
I’ve always loved this book, I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to read it with me. My teaser is up at Calico Contemplations.
Such an amazing book. This teaser is a great reminder of how something simple can make such an impact during difficult times.
I first read Anne Frank when I was about the same age as Anne herself, and it was really sort of an earth-shaking experience. Great teaser from a great, great book! My teaser’s right here.
