Welcome to Amy Reads Good Books!
Like most book bloggers, I’ve spent a good chunk of my life with a nose in a book. In college, I followed my heart and became an English major. Then, I just couldn’t stop taking classes. Eight years and three degrees later, the powers that be finally said, “enough!” Now, I’m on the tenure track at a small college in Ohio. Since I’ve spent so much of my life in school, you’ll find lots of reviews of books related to university life. During the academic year, you’ll also find reviews of works that I teach in my own classes — freshman composition, American literature, women’s literature, and critical theory. If you’re interested in a career in higher education or are nostalgic for your own days in college, you’ll find tidbits here about my own idiosyncratic journey through college and graduate school and teaching.
Outside of school, I’m a wife, stepmom, and ordinary Midwesterner. Most of my reviews follow my own eclectic reading. I love memoirs, women’s fiction, and books about food, travel, and wine. Sometimes, I find a new obsession and read a bunch related to that, so bear with me. I started this blog to track my own reading and join the fabulous community of book bloggers out there. I hope that you’ll find a good recommendation or two here and join in the conversation! Please leave lots of comments (I love comments!) and e-mail me — amyreads99 [at] gmail DOT com.
I aim to keep an alphabetized list of reviews, but I also have everything organized by tags and by date. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find a good book!

Thanks
Thanks

Hi Amy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog – I keep getting sidetracked on the Harry Potters by other books I keep picking up, so it’s a good thing for the challenge otherwise it might take me another ten years!
I like your blog – in a parallel universe, I wanted to be a professor of French lit but life took me here to Belgium and things turned out a bit differently than I expected!
Cheers,
Amy in Belgium
Thanks Amy! I look forward to reading your posts as we make our way through Harry’s adventures.
